My goal is to make things as easy and stress-free for you as possible and the way I do that is by doing a lot of prep work prior to your wedding. Your wedding day is one of the biggest, most important days of your life and I know how exciting, but also stressful that can feel. I want to be there to not only capture all of the in-between moments for you, but to also make sure that you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire time we’re together.
I’ve been told that I have a very calming presence (not to toot my own horn, but toot toot) and fun fact, I was a counselor before I became a full time photographer. Because of that background, I think it is so important that we connect with each other first in order to work well together on your day. I’ll work tirelessly to ensure that you feel at ease throughout your wedding day and engagement portrait session. I’m not here to just run around with a camera in your face all day. I’m here to really learn who you and your partner are and to tell the story of the start of your lives together.

She takes photos so beautiful that sometimes I cannot believe it's us in them. Working with her was amazing - she is incredibly polite, sweet and very well organized and knowledgeable. She was always available if I had questions, but usually she was answering my questions before I even had to ask. For our wedding, she took insanely beautiful portraits but also the best candids. Nothing felt forced and all the photos are breathtakingly beautiful. I cannot speak more highly about how grateful I am that she was our photographer.
We have now used Alaina several times as we have had to plan, and replan our wedding! Each time we book with her, I remember why we were so lucky to book her. From the moment we met her and planned out our “destination” Vermont wedding, she made us feel like we made an excellent choice. She made me and my husband feel comfortable and confident and captured our day better than I could have imagined. We cannot recommend her enough!!
Within seconds of discovering Alaina's Instagram profile, we loved her way of illuminating subjects and emotions in her photos while using natural light as a source. From our first consultation, the planning conversations over several months, and before and after saying our I Do's, our deepest gratitude would even go to the quality of Alaina's presence. We'll never forget how she grounded us when we were preparing for possible rain two days before the wedding. Alaina, you are truly remarkable with and without your camera!
You'll receive all of the useable images from our time together! That means pretty much any photo that doesn't include people blinking, isn't exposed correctly, etc. This typically ends up being about 70 to 100 photos per hour.
After I receive your inquiry, I'll send over a ton of information for you and then we can set up a time to meet to make sure that we're a great fit! After our meeting, you'll receive a proposal from me that includes the contract and payment plan. All that's required to reserve your date is a signed contract and paid deposit! After that, we are official!
I will literally travel anywhere! I love to travel and I get so excited to shoot in a new location. There are no travel fees for locations within one hour (round trip) of me in Dumont, NJ (07628). Locations beyond 1 hour are billed at $50 per hour and travel to NYC and the outer boroughs is &75. All travel to Philadelphia is subject to a $125 travel fee.
For all sessions, you'll receive your gallery within 2-4 weeks from your session date. For weddings, your gallery will be ready 8-10 weeks from your date. I also always try to send over sneak peeks within 48 hours from your wedding or session date! Please note that for weddings, sneak peeks may take slightly longer as I often have 2 or possibly 3 weddings in a row.
I get this question a lot, most often because many people take photos right after they've gotten engaged. The biggest reason that I am such a believer in engagement sessions is that they give us the opportunity to meet each other prior to your wedding day! It's like a trial run where you get to feel what it's like in front of the camera without it being the stress of your wedding day.
I actually had to go through this myself! My husband and I had to postpone our June 2020 wedding because of Covid and I know how difficult it is. Because of this, I try to be as accommodating to couples as I possibly can be! If you need to reschedule due to Covid, your deposit and any money paid will be transferred to your new date (just please reach out to me before picking your new date with your venue)!
Absolutely! I have a ton of recommended vendors in my wedding welcome guide that I'll send over to you once we have you all booked!
Wedding payments are split into 3 equal payments - the first one is due at the time of booking, the second is due midway between when you booked and your wedding date and the last one is due two weeks before your wedding date. For sessions, a $100 deposit is required to hold your date and the remainder of your session fee is due one day after your session. Images are not delivered until the session is paid in full
A second shooter is another photographer that I will bring along with me to help capture the day from different angles. A second shooter is particularly helpful if you and your partner are getting ready in separate locations or if you're having a larger wedding. I only include photographers who shoot in a similar style to me and everything will still be edited in my signature Alaina Elizabeth style!
I know that this is one of the first things people look for in a photographer - someone who has been to their venue. While I have been to many venues in the tri-state area, there are also many I haven't been to. You do not need to be worried at all having a photographer who hasn't been to your venue as I'll always show up early on the day regardless to scope it out. However, I do offer venue visits on weekdays if you would prefer to show me around the venue yourself prior to your day.
Just so you know, I don’t want to just be your photographer, I want to be your friend! I’m here to be your listening board and I'm here for you for literally anything. I’m here for it all! If you are too, let’s do this!
